After watching a group of creatures carry the stranger into a crack in the plateau, Taryn and Barnabus follow them inside. Ren and Eike climb the plateau to search for other entrances. When more of the creatures pursue them up the side of the plateau, they retaliate by pushing a large boulder down, shredding through the figures. Meanwhile, underneath, surrounded by smells of decay and rot and the smoky haze of firelight, Barnabus and Taryn see intricate designs and carvings on the walls and Taryn once again hears an alluring voice urging him forward.

Taryn, now able to perceive the orange line due to the effects of quash, leads the party further east. Exploring ahead, Barnabus discovers an old, abandoned, tent encampment and then spots movement at the foot of some far off plateaus. Everyone but Ren recognized the figures as the same sort of creatures that had attacked their camp before she joined the party. Barnabas approaches and is quickly surrounded by creatures. The stranger joins him in the circle and the creatures hoist him aloft and carrry him off in the direction of the plateau.

Taryn smokes the stranger’s quash and sees an orange hue on the path ahead. At the same time, Eike spots a figure far in the distance. The figure approaches and Eike recognizes Ren, an associate from her past in Arden, who admits to following them from the city. In the meantime, an alluring voice speaks to Taryn, promising to “purify the waters together”.

Anyra flies off into the distance, hair ablaze, as the remainder of the party tries to come to terms with her fate. Taryn attempts to free Barney’s foot with coral shears and the stranger continues on his path, unperturbed. Taryn and Barnabus follow, and Anyra is a mere speck in the distance when Eike resigns herself and follows the stranger as well.

The Wretched C3E4: All Nude Figures

Anyra is in bad shape after her attempted abduction, numb and unable to control her body. Barney, still wrapped in a creature carcass from his own run-in, feels oddly amazing. He cracks open its skull, allowing thick blood to ooze over his fingers, and Anyra feels a ravenous hunger. At the same time, a centepede-like creature crawls from the creature’s brain and Barney consumes it. Eike grabs the stranger’s quash pipe, hoping to subdue Anyra, as Taryn assesses his wellbeing after his own encounter with the creatures. The stranger is unharmed and unperturbed, offering Taryn a share of the bounty at the end of the orange line.
